a. Books

It starts with the name of the author followed by a comma, then the title of the book in between inverted commas followed by a full stop. Then the number of edition followed by a comma, then the place of publication followed by a colon, then the publisher followed by a comma, then the year of publication followed by a comma (the publication information – edition number, place of publication, publisher and year of publication - should be placed in between the bracket), then the volume number and page number separated by colon.

Example: ‘Amru Ibn ‘Uthman known as Sibaway, “The Book Title”. Editor: Abdu al-Salaam Harun, (3rd Edition, Beirut: Dar al-Jil, 1988), 3: 417.

b) Research Published In Journals/Periodicals

It starts with the name of the author followed by a comma, then the title of the article in between inverted commas followed by a full stop. Then the name of the journal in italics followed by the number of Issue, then a comma, then the date of publication in bracket followed by a colon, then the page number.

Example: Mahmood Mubarak ‘Ubaydat, “The Phenomenon of Definition and Refutation in the Light of Communicative linguistics”. Journal of the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, 94 (2018): 72.

e) When scientific material is sourced from website

The material is cited from the source as usual, followed by the expression: accessed on (date), then the address of the website.

Example: Mahmood Mubarak ‘Ubaydat, “The Phenomenon of Definition and Refutation in the Light of Communicative linguistics”. Journal of the Jordanian Arabic Language Academy, 94 (2018): 72.  Accessed on 10/9/2022 from: https://arabic.jo/wp-content/uploads/2021

1) Book

Name title of the author, the first and second name. “the title of the book distinguished by inverted commas”. The editor or translator. (edition, place of publication: publisher, year of publication).
