Abstract

This research explores one of the Arabic morphological patterns, (Fa‘āliyyah), that has not garnered significant attention from scholars. The aim is to delineate the extent of this pattern's prevalence in Arabic, elucidate its morphological structure, and identify the general meanings it conveys. The research follows a descriptive-explanatory methodology and concludes that this pattern is predominantly associated with verbal nouns (maṣḍar), and is derived from the root structures"Fa‘ūl" and “Fā ‘il”. It signifies meanings related to the mind or heart, or those indicating breadth and proliferation.
