The language of the eyes and their psychological connotations in the Qur’an’s depiction of scenes from the Prophet’s biography

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on the language of the eyes and its psychological emotions in scenes from the Prophetic Sunnah and the Holy Quran. It attempts to reveal the subtle indications and profound meanings of the psychological reflections of the language of the eyes in a unique Qur'anic miraculous style, and to demonstrate the extent of the impact of the language of the eyes on social relationships and human behaviors. The study relies on an inductive analytical approach, which involves collecting relevant Qur'anic verses and analyzing them through the books of interpretation. It also employs a comparative method by comparing modern psychological studies and theories with what is mentioned in the noble verses, extracting the most significant commonalities that highlight the precedence of the Holy Quran in these matters. The study reveals the nuanced indications and deep meanings of the psychological reflections of the language of the eyes in a unique miraculous manner. Among the findings is the embodiment of the Holy Quran through scenes from the Prophetic Sunnah, illustrating the positive psychological effects as seen in the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the negative effects as demonstrated in the behaviors of the hypocrites. Additionally, it discusses the effect of drowsiness that Allah cast upon the companions during the battles of Badr and Uhud, which had a psychological impact on the sympathetic nervous system, reducing stress during crises, disasters, and wars. It also addresses the danger of deceptive psychology, characterized by looks akin to those of a person about to faint from death, along with the tensions leading to panic and anxiety, known as pantophobia.
