The research examines the influence and interaction between the Arabic and English languages in the field of linguistic communication. This interest falls within the scope of contrastive studies and language comparison. It does so through the study of the conditional structure and its compositional and functional implications in a literary text, to elucidate the points of similarity and difference between the two languages in expressing this structure and its function. This is achieved by conducting a contrastive functional study of the conditional structure in Arabic and English within a literary text, with the aim of analyzing its uses and its impact on linguistic communication and literary expression.
