METHODOLOGICAL RULES IN DEALING WITH THE ORIENTALISTS' CRITICISM REGARDING THE PROPHETIC SUNNAH

This research aims to examine a set of texts studied by orientalists and describe their approach to these texts in order to derive the most important methodological rules that should be considered when dealing with their studies. The research also seeks to provide a separate, specialized, and concise study of the rules and guidelines related to refuting the orientalists' doubts in the field of Prophetic Sunnah. The author has collected these rules and arranged them into sections and subsections, attempting to describe and construct them based on a logical sequence. The reader of the doubt should first understand the background from which the orientalist proceeded, whether it is an intellectual premise or methodological violation. Then, the reader should identify the approach used by the orientalist in presenting this doubt, such as the projective approach, the materialistic historical approach, the construction and deconstruction approach, or the informative narrative approach. Next, the research discusses the methods that the researcher should follow in discussing and responding to the orientalist, including focusing on reducing sub-doubts to main doubts, referring to an agreed-upon reference, refuting orientalists by contradicting each other's statements, using rational and logical rules, using historical facts and evidence, highlighting methodological errors in the orientalists' writings, and pointing out the more severe flaws in the orientalist's own history than what they criticized. One of the most important findings of this research is the necessity of paying attention to establishing a scientific methodology in the field of criticizing orientalism due to the lack of studies in this area.
