LINGUISTIC EXPRESSION IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: THE ARABIC LANGUAGE AS A MODEL

This research aims to explore the limits of the linguistic capabilities of artificial intelligence, identify the challenges it faces, and highlight the features of linguistic expression in artificial intelligence applications, specifically focusing on the extent to which the Arabic language is represented in terms of diversity, accuracy, and innovation of output. The study adopts a descriptive methodology by tracing the features of this concept through examining the advancements achieved by artificial intelligence in applications. It provides a description of the level of these applications concerning the basic functions they perform, determines the extent of language presence in these applications, and elucidates the issues related to the nature of linguistic expression in this intelligent technology. Additionally, it studies some examples of the linguistic output of artificial intelligence. The research has yielded several findings, most notably that artificial intelligence technology has demonstrated progress in the field of linguistic communication with humans, contributing to the development of various applications in this domain. However, these applications exhibit varying degrees of accuracy and correctness in their linguistic outputs. Moreover, examples of literary production in poetry or storytelling indicate that artificial intelligence is still unable to reach the level of human creativity in this field. It relies on the principle of algorithmically programmed selection without possessing any degree of human emotion. Even if it is capable of expressing this emotion, it remains inferior to human creativity in this area.
