This research paper addresses the ethical imperatives in Spanish influenza coverage and their implications for sustainable growth, using Rabee Jaber's novel "America" (2009) as a primary source. The study employed a multidisciplinary qualitative descriptive design to explore the phenomenon of historical media coverage and Arabic literary representations of the pandemic, shaping community responses and promoting sustainable practices. Objectives included identifying ethical themes in the novel, analyzing their relationship to historical coverage, and assessing their impact on sustainable growth. A two-phase data collection technique was detailed through: 1) documentation and thematic analysis (including in-depth reading, note-taking, and classification) to highlight important thematic sections; and 2) taxonomic mapping through multidisciplinary perspectives (literary sociology by Lucien Goldmann, environmental criticism by Cheryll Glotfelty, and narrative ethics by Martha Nussbaum). To guide the analysis process, data analysis techniques such as reformulation, description, and interpretation, as implemented by Erwan Abdullah, were used to reveal trends, causes, and relationships in the data. These findings affirm the role of Arabic literature in promoting ethical awareness and demonstrating sustainable practices. Although the focus is solely on one work of Arabic literature, this paper presents practical knowledge and ethical awareness regarding the intersection of health crises, media narratives, and sustainability, opening opportunities for multidisciplinary research that touches reality and has long-term impact.
